Need Direction?

If you were to be sent to a new place, a place you are not familiar with, will you need direction? YES or NO

If you answered yes, then I believe you agree with me that in our day to day endeavors we need to be directed. This is solely because,as the adage goes ''nobody knows tomorrow''!

simply put we are not promised our very next breath. However, we live by faith without even realizing.

How are we directed and to whom are we to seek direction from?. We cannot seek direction from a source that is as clueless as we are, on what path to take. And furthermore, a source limited in knowledge. The best decision will be to seek direction from the right source.

Consider this scenario, if I am to visit lets say a new country, shop or restaurant I will use a GPS or a MAP knowing that it will take me right to my destination.

Nonetheless, when we refer to life matters, such as the career to pursue, the school to attend, even courses we should partake, our future spouses, where to build our houses or settle, among others, the famous GPS and MAP excuse me to say is useless. It cannot help.

a child cannot direct a child

As children of God, we have limited knowledge and that said, only God can give us clear direction that will lead us to exactly where we need to be and not where we want to be.

For it is written in His word, in

Isaiah 55:8-9

''For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways , declares the Lord''.

''As the heavens are higher than the earth , so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

Even though we may feel we know it all most times, honestly we do not, myself included. There is a higher source, more knowledgeable and full of great wisdom. He is bigger than the biggest, stronger than the strongest and greater than the greater. He is YAHWEH, the Almighty God. The KING of kings, the LORD of lords, the Alpha and Omega, Beginning and the End. We need to seek from Him alone, our ultimate source, no one else and nothing else. Period!

We are Gods creation and the story of our lives are already written by the One who created us. He knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), and this qualifies Him to give us direction for He knows the way!

Jesus answered His disciples once when they questioned him about not knowing the way. ''He says, I am the way...(John 14:6). In order to get to where we are going we need to go through Him. We are to seek Him in everything, from our day to day activities to everything involving our lives, and by His sufficient Grace He will direct us.

How will He direct us?

By His Holy Spirit, who will help us navigate our journey here on earth. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Living God. The word of God encourages us to live our lives in step with His Holy Spirit who abides in us once we believe and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Savior. Before Christ ascended into heaven after His resurrection, He promised His disciples a helper who is in the person of the Holy Spirit.

John 14:26

''but the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I (Jesus) have said to you.''

Having said all that, do you feel stuck today? you feel everything you do is not working out and you do not know what to do next or where to turn to?..there is a possibility, you are seeking from the wrong source. Today, I feel led to encourage you to turn your eyes on to Jesus, for He knows the way. He is the way. He is willing to direct you if only you grant Him the permission.

''and this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

1 John 5:14

God is willing, are you?
